ATL Co., Ltd. (ATL), a testing and certification specialist headquartered in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, has acquired advanced simulator company Cubic, declaring its transformation into a global-caliber, comprehensive testing and certification institute. According to ATL on the 25th, the company will sign a merger and acquisition agreement with Cubic effective July 1 and begin the formal process. Through the acquisition, ATL will move beyond its existing testing and certification functions to secure its own technology-based capabilities in test equipment development and certification solutions. Cubic is a company with proven test equipment development and technical consulting capabilities across fields such as power equipment, communication devices, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and environmental testing, and has earned recognition for its competitiveness in automation solutions and in-house equipment development within the Test, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry. ATL plans to combine its own capabilities with Cubic's technology to build a converged technology base and an advanced business model within the testing and certification industry. Since being accredited as a KOLAS-certified international testing laboratory in 2021, ATL has grown into an SME with well-rounded technical achievements and management capabilities, including its 2023 SCI excellent technology evaluation, its 2025 selection as an outstanding company by the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, and its Innobiz certification. The company has recorded revenue growth of more than 1,200% over the past three years, establishing itself as a leading testing institute in the Chungcheong region. "This acquisition is not simply an expansion in scale but a decisive step toward technology convergence and business diversification," said ATL CEO Dongmin Jung. "We will grow into a comprehensive TIC platform company that provides high-value-added services such as strengthened expertise through our own simulators and tailored certification consulting." The two companies plan to complete organizational integration within the first half of the year and roll out an innovative service system in stages starting in the second half of 2025. /Reporter Kim Jae-ok
